People Before Politics, Community Over Profit
About Miranda

Hi, I'm Miranda Bachman. I'm a mother, community organizer, advocate, and candidate for Kansas House District 69. Before I was ever involved in politics, I was a parent trying to navigate the same challenges many Kansas families face. I am raising three children, and my family is at the center of everything I do. Like many parents, I've spent years balancing work, caregiving, school activities, medical appointments, and the daily realities of making sure everyone has what they need to succeed. One of my children is autistic and nonverbal. That experience has given me firsthand insight into the challenges families face when it comes to finding affordable childcare-especially for children with special needs. It has also taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of building communities where every person is valued and included. Family has shaped my life in other ways as well. In recent years, my mother has battled Stage 4 breast cancer. Walking alongside her through treatments, hospital visits, and uncertainty has deepened my understanding the importance of accessible healthcare for Kansas families. No family should face impossible choices when it comes to caring for a loved one.
Why I'm Running
My path into public service began through community service. As a former healthcare worker and longtime community organizer, I've spent years helping neighbors connect to resources, supporting mutual aid efforts, organizing food programs, and working to address issues like food insecurity, housing instability, healthcare access, and transportation barriers. Many people in Salina know me through the Sharing Fridges, local advocacy work, Pride events, and community projects. These experiences have reinforced a simple belief: government should help solve problems. It should work for everyday people, not just those with money, power, or connections. I am running for Kansas House because I want families like mine-and families like yours-to have a voice in Topeka. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, every senior deserves dignity, every worker deserves a fair shot, and every family deserves access to the resources they need to build a stable future. Kansas has a long history of neighbors helping neighbors. That spirit is what drives me every day, and it's what will guide me as your State Representative. This campaign is rooted in a simple idea: Community Over Profit. Join us in building a stronger Kansas together.
